Sachem Capital Corp. functions as a specialized real estate finance enterprise. The company focuses on the initiation, assessment, provision of funds, administration, and oversight of a diverse portfolio comprising short-duration loans. These financial instruments are secured by primary mortgage interests on various real properties, predominantly located along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, including key areas in the Northeast and Florida. It extends non-traditional loan offerings to property investors and developers, enabling them to finance the acquisition, refurbishment, reconstruction, growth, or enhancement of both residential and commercial assets. Operating as a real estate investment trust, the company enjoys exemption from federal income taxes, provided it distributes at least 90% of its annual taxable earnings to its shareholders. Sachem Capital Corp. commenced operations in 2010 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Branford, Connecticut.
