SalMar ASA, a leading global producer of farmed Atlantic salmon, engages in the full value chain from broodstock and smolt production to marine-phase farming, harvesting, processing and sales of salmon products. The company operates through key segments including Fish Farming Central Norway with 84,387 tonnes maximum allowable biomass (MAB) and advanced recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) smolt facilities; Fish Farming Northern Norway featuring 72,337 tonnes MAB, InnovaNor processing plant and RAS smolt expansion on Senja; Sales & Industry encompassing InnovaMar and InnovaNor facilities for filleting, portioning and secondary processing with combined annual capacity exceeding 300,000 tonnes; Icelandic Salmon with integrated hatcheries, sea farms and harvesting in Iceland's Westfjords; and SalMar Ocean focusing on offshore aquaculture via Ocean Farm 1, Arctic Offshore Farming and development projects like Smart Fish Farm and Marine Donut. It sells fresh and processed salmon products including fillets to over 50 countries across Europe, Asia, North America and other markets through sales offices in Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Kverva, Norway, SalMar maintains production sites in Norway, Iceland, Scotland via 50%-owned Scottish Sea Farms and offshore operations. In recent developments, SalMar completed the merger with Wilsgård AS in August 2025, integrating 5,844 tonnes MAB in Northern Norway's production areas 10 and 11 to enhance operational efficiency and regional presence on Senja. The company fully acquired SalMar Aker Ocean AS in March 2025, renaming it SalMar Ocean as a wholly owned subsidiary to consolidate offshore efforts. Additionally, SalMar issued new green bonds totaling NOK 2 billion in 2025, including a successful tap issue, and assumed full control of salmon production from Frewi AS in July 2025 while issuing a prospectus for further green bond listings.
