Business
Safe Bulkers, Inc. is an international provider of marine drybulk transportation services, transporting bulk cargoes, particularly coal, grain, and iron ore, along worldwide shipping routes. The company owns and operates a modern fleet of approximately 46 drybulk vessels, including Panamax, Kamsarmax, post-Panamax, and Capesize classes with an aggregate deadweight tonnage capacity exceeding 4.6 million tons; these vessels also carry minor bulks such as bauxite, fertilizers, and steel products. Incorporated in the Marshall Islands in 2007 and headquartered in Monaco with operational offices in Athens, Greece, and other locations across four countries, Safe Bulkers serves major global users of drybulk transportation primarily in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Americas regions. In December 2025, the company authorized a new common stock repurchase program for up to 10 million shares, representing about 9.8% of outstanding shares and 20% of public float, to be funded from existing cash resources and superseding prior programs; this initiative reflects ongoing capital allocation strategies amid recent financial performance including third-quarter 2025 net revenues of $73.1 million and a focus on operational efficiency and sustainability enhancements.
