Business
Sands China Ltd. (HKEx: 1928; OTC: SCHYY) develops, owns, and operates integrated resorts and casinos in Macao; the company serves as a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands Corp. and holds one of six concessions granted by the Macao government for casino gaming operations in the world's largest gaming market by revenue. Incorporated in 2009 and headquartered in Taipa, Macao, Sands China Ltd. manages key properties including The Venetian Macao (opened 2007), Sands Macao (opened 2004), The Plaza Macao (opened 2008), The Parisian Macao (opened 2016), and The Londoner Macao (opened 2021); these resorts collectively offer approximately 11,000 hotel rooms and suites, over 150 restaurants and food outlets, luxury and mid-market retail malls with more than 750 shops featuring international brands, convention facilities such as the Cotai Expo, entertainment venues including the 14,000-seat Venetian Arena, 6,000-seat Londoner Arena, Parisian Theatre, Londoner Theatre, and Venetian Theatre, and Cotai Water Jet ferry services between Hong Kong and Macao. The company provides ancillary services encompassing ferry transportation and leasing, gaming operations, travel and tourism agency support, security, human resources administration, mall management, and outsourcing in information technology, accounting, hotel management, and marketing; its operations target leisure, business, and gaming customers primarily from Asia, with a strategic emphasis on Cotai Strip development to position Macao as a premier destination for conventions, entertainment, retail, and hospitality. In September 2024, Sands China Ltd. enters a significant partnership with Marriott International Inc. to rebrand and launch Londoner Grand as a Luxury Collection Hotel, Macao, scheduled for January 2025 debut and marking the introduction of Marriott's Luxury Collection brand to the market; this alliance enhances the company's luxury hospitality portfolio amid ongoing post-pandemic recovery and non-gaming diversification efforts. Recent initiatives also include the Sands Resorts Incubation Centre to foster SME innovation and the second Macao Technological Innovation Exploration in Lisbon in November 2025, supporting 42 local enterprises in international expansion.
