Business
Swisscom AG delivers comprehensive telecommunication and information and communication technology services across Switzerland and internationally, particularly within Italy. The company organizes its operations primarily through segments encompassing Swisscom Switzerland, Fastweb, and Other Operating activities. It provides a wide array of mobile and fixed-line connectivity solutions, including voice communication, high-speed broadband internet, digital television, and various mobile plans, alongside the retail of associated terminal equipment. For its business clientele, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations, Swisscom offers specialized telecom and ICT solutions. These encompass sophisticated cloud services, IT outsourcing, modern workplace platforms, advanced mobile communication tools, networking infrastructure, business process optimization, SAP integration, and robust security and authentication systems. Furthermore, the company extends tailored services to the banking sector, develops Internet of Things applications, and facilitates digitization initiatives within the healthcare industry. It also supports other telecommunication providers by offering access to its fixed-line and mobile networks for wholesale services and international roaming. Swisscom is deeply involved in the planning, ongoing operation, and maintenance of critical network infrastructure and complex IT systems, continuously expanding its fiber-optic and 5G networks across Switzerland. The company further provides services such as online and telephone directory platforms, and cross-platform retail media. A significant strategic development saw Swisscom complete the acquisition of Vodafone Italia in December 2024, merging it with its Italian subsidiary, Fastweb, to form "Fastweb + Vodafone." This move positioned the combined entity as a prominent converged operator in Italy, delivering integrated fiber and mobile solutions to residential, business, and public administration customers. In April 2024, Fastweb also diversified its offerings by entering the electricity market. Innovation remains a core focus, with recent initiatives including the launch of its proprietary AI assistant, myAI, and a new cybersecurity solution, beem, for business customers. Swisscom also maintains a strategic partnership with Ericsson to further enhance its mobile network through automation and AI, emphasizing sustainability. The company, established in 1852, has its headquarters in Bern, Switzerland, and is majority-owned by the Swiss government.
