374Water Inc. (NASDAQ: SCWO) develops and commercializes AirSCWO technology, a supercritical water oxidation system that destroys and mineralizes non-hazardous and hazardous organic waste streams into safe dischargeable water, mineral effluent, vent gas, and recoverable heat energy; the technology targets sewage sludge, biosolids, food waste, landfill leachate, firefighting foam including PFAS concentrates in aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF), granular activated carbon (GAC), ion exchange resin (IX), foam fractionate, petroleum oil lubricants, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, microplastics, and emerging contaminants across municipal, federal, industrial, agricultural, defense, oil and gas, waste management, environmental remediation, compliance, and sanitation markets in developing countries. Headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina with operations in the United States, the company, founded in 2018, serves municipal water treatment and biosolids management; federal applications including Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and Federal Aviation Administration projects; and industrial sectors such as oil and gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, automotive, aerospace, electronics, semiconductors, pulp and paper, healthcare, medical, and food and beverage. In September 2025, 374Water announced a hosting and collaboration agreement with Crystal Clean to establish Waste Destruction Services (WDS) operations at one of Crystal Clean's treatment storage and disposal facilities, deploying AirSCWO-6 systems initially for PFAS eradication from AFFF, GAC, IX, and other contaminated wastes to pursue federal, municipal, and industrial contracts with potential annual recurring revenue of $3 million to $5 million per unit and plans for additional installations; the company is also building a mobile AirSCWO fleet for onsite services and outlined a 2024 strategic roadmap emphasizing partnerships, joint ventures, accretive acquisitions, and regulatory advancements in its WDS pay-as-you-go model that eliminates upfront capital needs for clients.
