- Scandium International Mining Corp. engages in the exploration, evaluation and development of specialty-metals assets, with a principal focus on establishing production and end-use markets for scandium. The Company owns a 100% interest in the Nyngan Scandium Project and the Honeybugle Scandium property in New South Wales, Australia, and conducts its project development activities through wholly owned subsidiary EMC Metals Australia Pty Ltd. Its primary planned products are high-purity scandium oxide, including material targeted at 98% to 99.9% Sc2O3 specifications, for use in aluminum-scandium alloys, solid oxide fuel cells, advanced ceramics, lighting, electronics, additive manufacturing, aerospace, defense, transportation, energy and other technology-driven applications. The Nyngan project is designed as a surface mining and processing operation recovering scandium-bearing limonite ore and producing scandium oxide; the existing development plan contemplates approximately 75,000 tonnes of ore throughput annually and nameplate output of approximately 38,500 kilograms of scandium oxide per year over a 20-year mine life. The Company targets specialty-metal customers and prospective offtake partners serving decarbonization, electrification and higher-efficiency transportation markets. Scandium International Mining Corp. was incorporated in 2006, was formerly known as EMC Metals Corp. until its November 2014 name change, and is headquartered in Reno, Nevada, United States. Its operating asset base is concentrated in New South Wales, including Nyngan, located approximately 500 kilometers northwest of Sydney. In October 2025, the New South Wales resources authority granted EMC Metals Australia Pty Ltd Mining Lease ML 1893 for the Nyngan project, providing a 21-year mining term through October 2046 and replacing the prior underlying lease across the project’s full planned mine footprint. In June 2026, the Company engaged Lycopodium Limited to update Nyngan’s 2016 definitive feasibility study, including updated capital and operating-cost assumptions, potential operating efficiencies, selective higher-grade processing opportunities and evolving customer product requirements, as it advances discussions regarding strategic partnerships, multi-year offtake arrangements, project financing, construction and an eventual final investment decision.
