Security Federal Corporation (OTC: SFDL) serves as the holding company for Security Federal Bank, a community-focused commercial bank that accepts deposits from the general public and originates a range of loans including commercial real estate loans secured by non-residential properties, churches, hotels, residential developments, and multi-family dwellings; one-to-four family residential mortgages; construction, acquisition, development, and construction loans for residential subdivisions and commercial projects; commercial and agricultural business loans secured by equipment, fixtures, inventory, receivables, or unsecured; and consumer loans for home improvements, residential lots, automobiles, boats, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, and education. The Bank offers deposit products such as savings and checking accounts, money market accounts, fixed-rate certificates of deposit with varying maturities, and individual retirement accounts; online and mobile banking; online bill payment; trust services through Security Federal Trust; financial management and investment products including mutual funds, annuities, and retirement accounts via Security Federal Investments; and insurance agency services encompassing auto, business, home, and personal policies through Security Federal Insurance. Operating primarily through branches in Aiken, Lexington, Richland, and Saluda counties in South Carolina and Columbia and Richmond counties in Georgia, the Company targets personal, small business, and commercial customers in the Southeastern U.S. with additional emphasis on underserved communities as a certified Community Development Financial Institution since 2010. Founded in 1922 and headquartered in Aiken, South Carolina, Security Federal Corporation maintains wholly owned subsidiaries including Security Federal Investments and Security Federal Insurance. In recent developments, the Company reported net income of $2.6 million or $0.81 per share for the first quarter of 2025 with loans receivable increasing modestly to $689.1 million and deposits rising 1.6% to $1.3 billion; adopted a new stock repurchase program; raised its regular dividend by 7% and declared a $0.14 quarterly dividend along with a $0.10 special dividend; and in 2022 received $82.9 million in preferred stock investment under the U.S. Treasury's Emergency Capital Investment Program to support community lending initiatives.
