Business
Strauss Group Ltd. (TASE: STRS) is an Israel-based multinational food and beverage company that develops, manufactures, markets, sells, and distributes a broad portfolio of consumer products including dairy items such as yogurts, puddings, cheeses, and milk alternatives; coffee products encompassing roast and ground, instant, cappuccino, and creamer varieties through Strauss Coffee; fresh dips and spreads like hummus and salads under the Sabra and Obela brands in partnership with PepsiCo; salty snacks including Tapuchips and Shush as licensee of Frito-Lay; confectionery and chocolate such as Shokolad Para and Pesek Zman bars; bakery goods; and water purification, filtering, heating, and cooling solutions via Strauss Water. The company operates primarily through four core divisions—Strauss Israel for domestic dairy, snacks, and salads; Strauss Coffee in Eastern Europe, Brazil via the Três Corações joint venture, and other regions; Sabra-Obela for international dips and spreads; and Strauss Water in Israel, the UK, and China—with sales to retailers, its own stores, coffee shops, and vending machines across more than 20 countries on five continents, targeting consumers in North America, Europe, Brazil, and the Middle East. Founded in 1939 through the merger of the Strauss dairy business (established 1936) and Elite confections (roots in 1933), Strauss Group is headquartered in Petah Tikva, Israel, employs approximately 15,000 people worldwide, and maintains joint ventures including 50% ownership in Strauss Frito-Lay and the São Miguel partnership in Brazil. Recent developments include launching a new milk alternatives factory in northern Israel in 2025 to expand product variety; reporting 10% sales growth to NIS 3.3 billion in Q3 2025 driven by coffee in Brazil and Europe; unveiling a 2024-2026 strategic growth plan featuring the formation of S.E USA Inc. and strengthening the Sabra dips business; extending the Três Corações partnership with Brazil's São Miguel for 20 additional years in 2022; and boosting UK water operations through a 2023 collaboration with Culligan International. In 2007, the company rebranded from Strauss-Elite to Strauss Group, divesting Strauss Ice Cream to Unilever while retaining focus on its core branded categories.
