Business
TIH Limited is a Singapore-based closed-end private equity and investment management firm specializing in alternative asset investments and fund management solutions across the Asia-Pacific region. Founded in 1994 and formerly known as Transpac Industrial Holdings Limited, the company is headquartered in Singapore and listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange under the ticker SGX: T55. The firm operates principally through two core business segments: Investment Business and Fund Management. Under its Investment Business segment, TIH Limited deploys proprietary capital into diverse corporate transaction structures, including growth-stage private equity; special situations and event-driven investments; corporate deleveraging and operational restructurings; turnaround capital; mezzanine and structured financing; joint ventures and strategic co-investments; cross-border mergers and acquisitions financing; and secondary purchases of investment portfolios and non-core corporate assets. The firm targets enterprises across multiple industry sectors, including consumer and industrial products; healthcare and medical services; technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT); food and agriculture; manufacturing and specialty chemicals; commercial real estate; and financial services. Its geographic investment operations span Singapore, Greater China, Hong Kong SAR, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Under its Fund Management segment, operations are conducted primarily through its wholly owned subsidiary, TIH Investment Management Pte. Ltd. (TIHIM), which holds a Capital Markets Services (CMS) license for fund management issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Through TIHIM, the company provides specialized investment services, including third-party alternative investment fund management; non-discretionary investment advisory and consultancy services; deal sourcing, origination, and capital structuring; and active portfolio governance and divestment execution for institutional clients, family offices, and sovereign-linked entities. The subsidiary manages and advises dedicated investment vehicles, including the ASM Connaught House series of funds (ASM Connaught House Fund II and ASM Connaught House Fund III) focusing on event-driven special situations, the Vasanta Fund 1 SP targeting value-unlocking and active stakeholder engagement in undervalued listed securities across the Asia-Pacific region, and the ASM Private Credit Fund LP. In recent corporate and strategic developments, TIH Limited has continued to expand its collaborative investment mandates alongside strategic anchor shareholders, including Argyle Street Management Limited and the Lippo Group through Lippo China Resources Limited. The company has actively managed its portfolio through targeted asset acquisitions and disposals under SGX listing compliance frameworks, including capital restructuring and shareholder loan arrangements in holding entities such as Fortune Crane Limited, as well as the optimization of its holdings in regional financial services and property development assets. In response to regional macroeconomic shifts, TIH Limited has strategically broadened its private credit allocations and special situations deal pipeline across Southeast Asia and Greater China, scaling TIHIM's third-party advisory platform to generate recurring fee revenues while pursuing long-term capital appreciation.
