Business
Acelyrin, Inc. (Nasdaq: SLRN) is a late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company that identifies, acquires, and accelerates the development and commercialization of transformative medicines, primarily for immunology and endocrine indications. The company develops a pipeline of product candidates including izokibep, a subcutaneous small protein therapeutic that potently inhibits IL-17A and is in Phase 3 trials for hidradenitis suppurativa, psoriatic arthritis, and non-infectious uveitis, as well as Phase 2 trials for axial spondyloarthritis; lonigutamab, a subcutaneously administered monoclonal antibody targeting IGF-1R in Phase 2/3 trials for thyroid eye disease; and SLRN-517, a monoclonal antibody targeting c-KIT in preclinical development for chronic urticaria. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Agoura Hills, California, Acelyrin operates in the United States with a focus on patients suffering from chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. In February 2025, Acelyrin entered a definitive all-stock merger agreement with Alumis Inc. to create a combined clinical biopharma entity advancing therapies for immune-mediated diseases, with the transaction approved by Acelyrin stockholders in May 2025 and completed later that month, resulting in the combined company continuing under the Alumis name. The merger followed the rejection of an unsolicited $3.00-per-share cash acquisition proposal from Concentra Biosciences in early 2025, which the board deemed inferior to the Alumis transaction; post-merger, the entity holds approximately $737 million in cash to fund programs into 2027, integrating Acelyrin's immunology assets with Alumis' TYK2 inhibitors such as ESK-001 in Phase 3 for plaque psoriasis.
