- Saltire Capital Ltd. is a Canada-based publicly traded permanent-capital investment company that acquires and develops operating businesses in foundational real-economy sectors, including industrial services, equipment distribution, agriculture, infrastructure and specialized display technology. The Company invests in private businesses with established market positions, barriers to entry, predictable cash flows and management teams, using a long-term buy-and-build model intended to provide business owners with an alternative to traditional private equity while retaining management continuity and supporting expansion. Its operating portfolio includes Strong/MDI Screen Systems Inc. (MDI), which designs, manufactures and supplies cinema projection screens, including Eclipse and IMAX-compatible screens, and serves cinema exhibitors, immersive-entertainment, theme-park and simulation markets; SanStone Investments Ltd., an Atlantic Canada equipment-dealer platform operating through the Wilson Equipment and Tidal Tractor brands, which supplies equipment and related support to industrial, agricultural and infrastructure customers; and Tool Shed Sales and Rental Inc., a Nova Scotia-based provider of contractor supplies, professional-grade tools, safety equipment, Scotsman products, and sales and rentals of scaffolding, including pump-jack and end-frame scaffolding. Saltire operates principally in Canada, with MDI serving customers in cinema and related markets internationally and SanStone and Tool Shed serving Atlantic Canadian markets. Incorporated in 2021, Saltire is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, with its registered office in Vancouver, British Columbia. Recent strategic developments include the August 2025 acquisition and integration of SanStone Investments, which expanded Saltire’s exposure to industrial, agricultural and infrastructure-related equipment markets, and the June 2026 acquisition of 100% of Tool Shed Sales and Rental Inc. through a wholly owned subsidiary of SanStone for C$2.8 million, funded through cash and the issuance of 408,635 Saltire common shares. The Tool Shed transaction expands the Company’s industrial-services platform and contractor-equipment offering in Atlantic Canada. In August 2026, Saltire also disclosed that SanStone’s minority shareholders had elected to convert their SanStone shares into Saltire common shares, with the fair-value determination and resulting share issuance still pending at the reporting date.
