- Smooth Rock Ventures Corp. is a Canadian-headquartered, U.S.-focused mineral exploration company engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of gold and polymetallic mineral properties, principally within Nevada’s Walker Lane mineral belt. The Company’s core assets comprise the wholly owned Palmetto Gold Project in Esmeralda County, Nevada, and the Giroux Project in Mineral County, Nevada. Its activities include geological mapping; prospecting; geochemical and surface sampling; trenching; drilling-target generation; mineral-resource evaluation; and exploration-stage project advancement. Smooth Rock is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and maintains an operating presence in Nevada, including Yerington. The Company was founded in 2017 and its common shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol SMRV and on the OTC Pink market under the symbol SMRVF.
The Palmetto Gold Project is Smooth Rock’s principal gold-focused property and consists of 116 unpatented mining claims covering approximately 2,217 acres in Esmeralda County, Nevada. Smooth Rock holds a 100% undivided interest in Palmetto, which is not subject to outstanding royalties. The project contains an NI 43-101-compliant inferred gold and silver mineral-resource estimate prepared by WSP Canada Inc. in October 2020, comprising approximately 296,695 ounces of gold and 2.02 million ounces of silver, including near-surface pit-constrained and underground inferred resources. Infrastructure and historical work at Palmetto include an exploration and development decline/adit extending to approximately 300 feet in depth to access the Discovery Zone, as well as exploration completed by prior operators including Newmont Gold, Phelps Dodge, Cambior, Romarco Minerals and other explorers. Smooth Rock’s work at Palmetto focuses on evaluating and expanding high-grade gold-silver mineralization and advancing the project through additional exploration and resource-development activities.
The Giroux Project consists of 12 patented claims and 36 unpatented mining claims covering approximately 390 hectares, or 965 acres, located about 60 miles south-southeast of Hawthorne, Nevada. The property is prospective for gold, silver, copper and nickel mineralization and includes historical workings and mineral occurrences. In April 2026, Smooth Rock launched a new exploration program at Giroux comprising reconnaissance prospecting; detailed geological mapping; surface trenching; systematic sampling; and the relocation and assessment of historical workings. The program is intended to generate modern geological and geochemical data, refine exploration targets and support planning for an initial drilling campaign. Earlier sampling programs at Giroux reported gold, silver, copper and nickel values from outcrops and historical mine dumps.
Recent corporate developments include a management transition in March 2026, under which director Michael Ruggles was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and Donald Gordon was appointed to the board of directors, while former President and CEO Christos Doulis remained a director. In February 2026, the Company completed a non-brokered private placement and debt-settlement transactions. In June 2026, Smooth Rock announced a further non-brokered private placement of up to 3.0 million units at CAD 0.25 per unit for gross proceeds of up to CAD 750,000; each unit consists of one common share and one common-share purchase warrant exercisable at CAD 0.35 for 36 months. The proposed financing is intended to fund advancement of the Company’s Nevada exploration portfolio and general working capital.
