Business
SNDL Inc. produces, distributes and sells cannabis products in Canada while operating as the largest private-sector retailer of liquor and cannabis, with retail banners including Ace Liquor, Wine and Beyond, Liquor Depot, Value Buds, Spiritleaf, Superette and Firesale Cannabis; the company cultivates cannabis through premium indoor facilities, manufactures low-cost biomass into flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, concentrates and topicals, and sells these under brands such as Top Leaf, Contraband, Palmetto, Bon Jak, La Logue, Versus, Grasslands, Pearls by Grön, No Future, Bhang Chocolate, Vacay and Value Buds; it also retails wines, beers and spirits through owned liquor stores and provides financial services via its investments segment. SNDL operates four segments--Liquor Retail, Cannabis Retail, Cannabis Operations and Investments--targeting adult-use recreational and medical cannabis consumers as well as alcohol buyers across Canada, with distribution through owned and franchised stores, partnerships and export channels. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, the company, formerly Sundial Growers Inc., changed its name to SNDL Inc. in July 2022 following the acquisition of Alcanna Inc. In recent developments, SNDL completed the acquisition of Indiva Limited in 2024, making it Canada's largest infused edibles manufacturer with added brands including Pearls by Grön, No Future and Bhang Chocolate, and entered an agreement in April 2025 to acquire 32 Cost Cannabis and T Cannabis stores in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan for $32.2 million to expand its retail network; the company reported record full-year 2024 net revenue of $920.4 million, launched the Rise Rewards loyalty program, opened new stores including five cannabis and two Wine & Beyond locations, ramped up its Atholville cultivation facility for international growth into the UK and EU, completed Nova Cannabis privatization, secured Florida license transfer approval and repurchased 10.7 million shares.
