Business
China Railway Harbin Group of Technology Corporation Class A is a China-based state-controlled provider of intelligent railway transit safety equipment, specialized information technology, and automated railway systems. Operating under the ultimate control of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., the company researches, develops, manufactures, and services high-reliability safety monitoring and maintenance solutions for mainline railways, high-speed rail networks, intercity transit, urban metro networks, and industrial freight lines. The company operates primarily through three core business segments: Rail Transit Safety Monitoring and Inspection Systems, Intelligent Equipment, and Railway Information Technology and Professional Services. Its product portfolio comprises Trackside Vehicle Safety Detection (5T) systems, including Track Hotbox Detection Systems (THDS) based on non-contact infrared dynamic temperature sensing; Trackside Acoustic Detection Systems (TADS) for rolling bearing acoustic defect diagnostics; Trackside Fault Detection Systems (TFDS), Passenger Car Fault Detection Systems (TVDS), and Train Electric Multiple Unit Fault Detection Systems (TEDS) utilizing high-speed digital imaging and machine-vision algorithms; Trackside Performance Detection Systems (TPDS) for dynamic wheel-rail force and wheel-defect monitoring; Automatic Equipment Identification (AEI) systems utilizing radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology; 360-degree dynamic vehicle scanning arrays for urban rail transit; hydraulic and pneumatic car retarder deceleration systems for marshalling yards; automated train washing machines; intelligent maintenance robotics, including automated high-speed train de-icing robots and railway bridge inspection systems; and ultrasonic rail flaw detection equipment. In addition, the company develops railway digitalization software and big-data analysis platforms integrated with Beidou satellite navigation positioning, alongside offering lifecycle maintenance, system integration, equipment overhaul, and technical testing services. In recent corporate developments, the company acquired China Railway Printing Co., Ltd. (Guotie Printing) to expand its footprint in specialized railway monitoring, locomotive safety, and passenger service support systems. To strengthen its vertical integration in upstream optical component manufacturing, the company established Shanghai Haweike Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on the research, production, and commercialization of infrared photonics chips, temperature-measuring sensors, and thermal imaging probes. The company has also expanded its global market initiatives under the Belt and Road infrastructure framework, securing system delivery and bidding engagements for overseas rail projects, including the vehicle 5T system for Malaysia East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), safety monitoring suites for the Simandou Railway in Guinea, RAMS engineering for the Tanzania Central Line, and equipment exports to Poland and Russia. Furthermore, the company continues to deploy artificial intelligence and deep-learning image recognition into its next-generation trackside diagnostic platforms and automated inspection robots. Founded in October 1996 and rooted in railway research institutions established in 1958, China Railway Harbin Group of Technology Corporation is headquartered in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, with major operational, manufacturing, and research facilities located across Harbin, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chengdu. The company serves domestic railway bureaus, rail transit operators, and heavy-haul industrial freight operators across China, and exports products and technical solutions to more than 20 countries and regions, including Australia, the United States, South Africa, Poland, and Russia.
