- Europris ASA operates as Norway's largest discount variety retailer, offering a broad range of private-label and branded merchandise across 15 product categories including personal care; groceries; laundry and cleaning; clothes and shoes; hobby and office supplies; handyman tools; travel, sport and leisure items; electronics; chocolate and snacks; pet food and accessories; carpet and home textiles; kitchenware; house and garden products; candles and interior decor; and storage solutions. The company sells these products through a network of 288 stores in Norway, comprising 267 directly owned outlets and 21 franchise stores, as well as online shopping platforms; it also owns e-commerce businesses such as Lekekassen, Strikkemekka, Designhandel and Lunehjem. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Fredrikstad, Norway, Europris primarily serves price-conscious consumers across the country with low-cost, everyday essentials and seasonal goods.
In May 2024, Europris completed the acquisition of the remaining 80% stake in Swedish discount variety retailer ÖoB (Runsvengruppen AB) for NOK 200.5 million in shares, gaining full ownership of its 92-store network and establishing a Nordic discount retail platform with combined annual sales exceeding NOK 13.5 billion.
The ÖoB integration progresses according to plan through 2025, featuring category harmonization in kitchen, home/interior and DIY; joint sourcing initiatives; a new ERP system rollout; and the opening of the first fully remodeled pilot store in Uddevalla in June 2025, which shows improved sales, footfall, basket value and margins from aligned non-food ranges.
In Norway, Europris expanded with eight new stores in 2025, including openings at Bekkestua in March, Arkaden in Stavanger in August and Søgne in Agder in November, bringing its network to 289 outlets covering all counties; the company maintains a robust pipeline for further growth into 2026 while reporting steady organic sales increases of 4.4% in Q3 2024 amid challenging consumer conditions.
Europris operates as a subsidiary of Crystal Turquoise BV and focuses on discount variety retail in the Nordics, targeting households with high-quality, affordable non-food and grocery items through physical and digital channels.
