Business
NYAB AB is a Nordic engineering, construction, and technical consulting company providing comprehensive infrastructure, energy, and civil engineering solutions for public and private sector clients. Tracing its operational origins to 1990 with the establishment of Nyanläggarna Luleå and formed in its present corporate structure through the 2022 merger of Sweden-based NYAB Group and Finland-based Skarta Group, the company is headquartered in Luleå, Sweden. NYAB operates predominantly across Sweden, Finland, and Norway, employing an asset-light business model centered on project development, engineering design, procurement, and contract management while collaborating with specialized subcontractor networks for physical site execution. The company delivers its solutions across two primary business segments: Civil Engineering and Consulting. Through its Civil Engineering division and specialized subsidiaries such as Niskasen Maansiirto, NYAB provides surface and subsurface infrastructure works, including road, highway, bridge, and railway construction; municipal water mains, sewage networks, and wastewater treatment plant construction; foundation engineering, bedrock excavation, and mass earthworks; land improvement and urban development; and specialized construction services for industrial facilities, data centers, mining installations, and steel manufacturing plants. Within the energy domain, the company provides turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and balance-of-plant services, including high-voltage power transmission line construction; electrical substation engineering and installation; wind farm civil and electrical infrastructure; utility-scale solar photovoltaic park development; and industrial electrification systems. Through its Consulting division, supported by operating entities including Dovre Solutions and Sitema, NYAB provides specialized project advisory and engineering services, including front-end engineering design and feasibility studies; power grid planning and technical consulting; project management, cost control, and quality assurance; construction site supervision; and technical project personnel staffing. In recent corporate developments, NYAB completed a cross-border corporate re-domiciliation in June 2024, transitioning from a Finnish public company (NYAB Plc) to a Swedish public limited liability company (NYAB AB) and shifting its share listing from the Nasdaq First North Growth Market Finland to the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market Sweden. In January 2025, NYAB expanded its consulting operations and international reach by acquiring the Norwegian consulting business and global project personnel operations of Dovre Group Plc. In early 2026, the company executed the strategic divestment of its acquired non-core North American subsidiaries, Dovre Canada Limited and Dovre Group Inc., realigning operational focus toward core Nordic energy transition, electrification, and critical infrastructure markets under its 2024–2026 strategic growth framework.
