Taisei Corporation (TISCY), a leading Japanese general contractor founded in 1873 and headquartered at 1-25-1, Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, engages primarily in civil engineering, building construction, and real estate development. The company provides comprehensive services including planning, surveying, designing, supervising, construction, installation, engineering, management, and consulting for building works, civil engineering works, plant installations, and other construction projects; regional, urban, ocean, aerospace, resources, and infrastructure development; public facilities such as roads, railways, harbors, airports, water supplies, and waste disposal; environmental conservation encompassing soil and water cleanup, waste management, and recycling; real property purchase, sale, lease, brokerage, and investment consulting; housing design, construction, and sales; and ancillary operations in transportation, intellectual property, information processing, and financing. Taisei operates through 15 domestic branches, 41 sales offices, a technology center in Yokohama, and overseas offices in 14 countries including Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and India, serving offices, commercial facilities, factories, schools, hospitals, skyscrapers, dams, bridges, tunnels, subways, and residential projects like its disaster-resistant Palcon housing brand. In recent developments, Taisei announced in August 2025 a landmark ¥130 billion ($878 million) acquisition of rival Toyo Construction to create a wholly owned subsidiary, marking the largest deal in Japanese construction history and enhancing capabilities in large-scale civil and building projects amid industry consolidation; completed an M&A of Satohide Corporation to bolster high-end residences and traditional construction; acquired a 25% stake in April 2024 in Rizal Green Energy Corp., a Philippine solar power developer, as its first overseas renewable energy equity investment; and advanced sustainability initiatives like testing second-life solar panels at Fukuoka Airport in May 2023 and participating in carbon capture and storage projects supporting Japan's 2050 carbon neutrality goals.
