- Tiernan Gold Corp. is a Canadian gold development company focused on advancing and de-risking its wholly owned Volcan Gold Project, a large-scale, development-stage open-pit heap-leach gold project in Chile’s Maricunga Gold Belt in the Atacama Region. The Company’s principal activities comprise gold-project evaluation and development; geological interpretation and resource modelling; core relogging; metallurgical testing; mine, processing and infrastructure engineering; environmental baseline monitoring and permitting; preparation of pre-feasibility and environmental-impact studies; and potential future development of an open-pit mining and cyanide heap-leach operation. Volcan’s principal mineralized areas include the Dorado West deposit, which hosts the substantial majority of the project’s Measured and Indicated mineral resources. Tiernan targets the development of a long-life gold operation and does not currently report commercial gold production.
Tiernan Gold operates primarily through its 100%-owned Volcan asset in Chile, while its corporate head office is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Company was formed in 2025 through the reverse takeover of Railtown Capital Corp. by Tiernan Gold, previously a wholly owned subsidiary of Hochschild Mining plc, with the resulting issuer completing its TSX Venture Exchange qualifying transaction and commencing trading under the symbol TNGD in December 2025. The transaction was accompanied by a private-placement financing that provided funding for advanced engineering studies and environmental work supporting the project’s progression toward permitting and development.
Recent operational developments include completion of a core-relogging and geological-modelling program at Dorado West between December 2025 and early 2026, intended to improve understanding of controls on gold mineralization and strengthen the project’s geological foundation. During 2026, the Company initiated parallel technical and environmental programs to support a pre-feasibility study, including installation of meteorological, air-quality and dust-monitoring stations after obtaining a CONAF research permit; continued engineering, geotechnical, hydrogeological, metallurgical and environmental baseline work; and Phase 1 metallurgical testing that reported broad cyanide-response results. Tiernan has also expanded its operating and executive capabilities through the appointments of an executive vice president of projects, a Chile country manager and a chief financial officer. The Company’s current strategic focus is to advance Volcan through engineering, environmental assessment and permitting milestones, with the objective of reducing technical and regulatory risk ahead of a potential construction decision.
