Toro Corp. (NASDAQ: TORO) is a growth-oriented shipping company that acquires, owns, charters and operates oceangoing vessels and provides worldwide energy seaborne transportation services with a focus on crude oil, petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG); its fleet consists of two medium-range (MR) tanker vessels and two LPG carrier vessels with an aggregate cargo carrying capacity of 111,232 deadweight tons (dwt), all built by first-class shipyards; the company operates through Handysize Tanker and LPG Carrier segments and serves customers globally. Established in March 2023 by Castor Maritime Inc. (NASDAQ: CTRM) through the distribution of its tanker business to shareholders, Toro Corp. is incorporated in the Republic of the Marshall Islands with administrative offices in Limassol, Cyprus, and its vessels are managed by Castor Ships S.A. The company targets energy transportation markets, emphasizing fleet expansion through timely acquisitions while maintaining a solid balance sheet and cash flows. Recent developments include the announcement in June 2025 of a $36.25 million acquisition of a 2021-built MR tanker vessel, expanding the fleet to five vessels and diversifying beyond LPG carriers; the sale of the LPG carrier Dream Terrax in September 2025; full redemption of its 8.75% Series E Cumulative Perpetual Convertible Preferred Shares in agreement with Castor Maritime Inc. in October 2025; and reporting net income of $1.4 million for the three months ended June 30, 2025, with $3.0 million for the six-month period.
