(NYSE: TPX) designs, manufactures, distributes and retails bedding products worldwide, including premium mattresses featuring proprietary TEMPUR material, innerspring and hybrid designs under the Tempur-Pedic, Sealy including Posturepedic, Stearns & Foster, and Cocoon by Sealy brands; adjustable bases with massage and sleep tracking features; foundations; pillows in TEMPUR material, fiber and specialty varieties; and other sleep accessories such as sheets and mattress protectors. The company operates through North America and International segments, serving consumers via over 750 company-owned stores, e-commerce channels, and third-party retailers in more than 100 countries, with 33 manufacturing facilities in North America and 38 internationally; it maintains global headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, traces origins to the 1992 launch of Tempur-Pedic in Sweden, and employs over 13,000 people across the United States and worldwide. In February 2025, Tempur Sealy completed its $5 billion acquisition of Mattress Firm, the largest U.S. mattress specialty retailer, accelerating its omni-channel strategy and expanding its retail footprint; the company plans to change its name to Somnigroup International Inc. effective February 18, 2025, with shares trading under ticker SGI, while Mattress Firm operates as a decentralized unit alongside Dreams; it also expects to divest 73 Mattress Firm stores and its 103-store Sleep Outfitters subsidiary to Mattress Warehouse in Q2 2025.
