Tronox Holdings plc is a leading vertically integrated producer of titanium dioxide pigment, zircon and other mineral sands products, titanium chemicals, and specialty titanium dioxide; the company manufactures and markets high-quality TiO2 pigment for coatings, plastics, paper, inks and other applications requiring whiteness, brightness and opacity; zircon for ceramics, refractories and foundry uses; heavy mineral sands including ilmenite, rutile and leucoxene; ultrafine and specialty TiO2 such as CristalACTiV products; titanium chemicals including TiCl4 and derivatives as the world's largest supplier; and other byproducts like acids, salts, solids, liquids and gases. Tronox operates mining, beneficiation and pigment production facilities across six continents with key locations in South Africa (Namakwa Sands, KwaZulu-Natal Sands), Australia (Cooljarloo, Chandala), the United States, Europe (Stallingborough UK), Saudi Arabia (Yanbu), Brazil and China (Fuzhou). Founded in 2006 as a spin-off from Kerr-McGee and headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, the company expanded significantly through its 2019 acquisition of Cristal's TiO2 business for $1.673 billion in cash and shares, enhancing global capacity; in 2022 it announced South Africa mine expansions completed in 2024; recently in September 2025 Tronox priced a $400 million 9.125% senior secured notes offering due 2030 to strengthen liquidity; and in Q3 2025 implemented operational adjustments including temporary idling of Fuzhou pigment plant, reduced rates at Stallingborough, Namakwa furnace and mine shutdowns, and East OFS mine commissioning to align production with market demand, targeting $25-30 million Q4 cash benefits and positive free cash flow into 2026 amid anti-dumping duties in Brazil, Saudi Arabia, EU and India.
