Business
Triton International Limited leases intermodal shipping containers and related equipment to shipping lines, freight forwarders and manufacturers worldwide; its core offerings include dry containers, refrigerated containers, tank containers, flat racks, open tops, palletwide containers, chassis, generator sets and rolltrailers. The company, founded in 1980 and headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, operates through two primary segments, Equipment Leasing and Equipment Trading, maintaining an owned and managed fleet exceeding 7 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) serviced via a global network of over 400 third-party depots. Triton International serves as a subsidiary of Brookfield Infrastructure Corporation following its prior affiliation with Thanos Holdings Limited and a name change from Triton Container International Limited in July 2016. In June 2025, Triton completed the acquisition of Global Container International for over $1 billion, integrating a complementary fleet of approximately 500,000 TEU and long-term leases with major shipping lines to strengthen its market leadership. Additionally, in April 2025, the company announced a strategic long-term partnership with Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company to expand financing and leasing capabilities.
