Business
TRU Precious Metals Corp. is a Canada-based mineral exploration company focused on gold and copper deposits in the Central Newfoundland Gold Belt. The company holds a portfolio of projects including its flagship Golden Rose Project, a regional-scale 297.50 square kilometre land package straddling 45 kilometres of strike length along the gold-bearing Cape Ray-Valentine Lake Shear Zone; the Twilite Gold Project, consisting of 65 claims covering 16.25 square kilometres along the same structural corridor; and a 51% interest in the Staghorn Project joint venture with Quadro Resources Ltd., covering 33.25 square kilometres within the Golden Rose area. TRU conducts exploration activities such as diamond drilling, rock sampling, soil sampling, trenching, channel sampling, geophysical surveys including induced polarization, and prospecting for gold and copper mineralization, targeting high-grade zones like Mark's Pond, Rich House, Jacob's Pond, Woods Lake, and copper-focused areas. Operations are centred in Central Western Newfoundland, Canada, with all properties located in this highly prospective district between major deposits such as Equinox Gold's Valentine Project and AuMEGA Metals' Cape Ray Gold Project; the company targets junior mining investors and strategic partners in the precious and base metals sectors. Founded in 1996 and headquartered at 70 Trius Drive in Fredericton, New Brunswick, TRU changed its name from Trius Investments Inc. in October 2020 upon shifting to a mining issuer focus. Recent developments include signing a definitive earn-in agreement with Eldorado Gold Corporation in July 2024, granting the latter an exclusive option to earn an 80% interest in the Golden Rose Project for up to $15 million in expenditures and cash over four years; appointing Steve Nicol as CEO in August 2024; completing a 1,988-metre diamond drilling program at Golden Rose in 2025; commencing an 1,800-metre drilling program in 2025 with MCL Drilling; exercising the initial option for 51% of Staghorn while opting not to pursue an additional 14% interest; granting an option on Twilite to Copperhead Resources Inc. for 100% interest; voluntarily delisting from OTCQB effective May 31, 2025 after a prior delisting in 2023 and relisting; reporting high-grade gold assays from Mark's Pond to Rich House fairway sampling and copper exploration results in 2024; securing CAD$3 million funding from Ormonde Mining Plc in 2023; and ongoing leadership changes including the departure of Corporate Secretary Heran Zhou in February 2025.
