Business
Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO) operates as the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, serving recreational farmers, ranchers, homeowners, gardeners, pet enthusiasts, and others pursuing hands-on lifestyles with a wide array of merchandise; livestock and equine feed, equipment, poultry supplies, fencing, sprayers, and chemicals; companion animal products including food, treats, equipment, and wellness items for dogs, cats, and small animals; seasonal and recreation goods such as tractors, riders, lawn and garden tools, bird feeding supplies, power equipment, and related items; truck, tool, and hardware products encompassing accessories, trailers, generators, lubricants, batteries, tools, and hardware; clothing, footwear, gifts, toys, snacks, and décor. The company also offers services like propane refills, trailer rentals, pet wash stations, and veterinary clinics through PetVet, alongside online sales via TractorSupply.com and Petsense.com. Founded in 1938 and headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee, Tractor Supply conducts operations through over 2,300 Tractor Supply stores across 49 states, 206 Petsense by Tractor Supply stores in 23 states, and digital platforms reaching a niche market of rural and suburban customers nationwide. Recent strategic developments include the completion of its acquisition of Allivet, a leading online pet pharmacy, in early 2025, which enhances companion animal, equestrian, and livestock offerings, expands the total addressable market by approximately $15 billion, and provides low-cost pharmacy solutions to its 37 million Neighbor's Club loyalty members while expecting earnings per share accretion in the first year. Tractor Supply executed a 5-for-1 stock split effective December 20, 2024, and continues its Life Out Here 2030 strategy with plans to open about 90 new stores in 2025, alongside Project Fusion remodels, garden center transformations, and share repurchases of $525 million to $600 million. The company maintains its position as a Fortune 500 firm ranked 296, supported by over 50,000 team members delivering in-store and omnichannel service.
