CEL Corporation (5078.T) operates as a Japan-based real estate company primarily engaged in the rental housing sector, providing consulting and solutions for apartment management; developing and selling real estate through its rental development business; and offering property management services including leasing, operations, rent collection, maintenance, and renovation. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Tokyo's Chuo-ku, the company focuses on single-person apartments in the Tokyo metropolitan area, particularly the southern and western districts, with services encompassing land utilization consulting, planning, design, construction subcontracting, civil engineering, steel frame manufacturing for construction, and proptech-driven property management via its owner membership organization, CEL Partners Club. It previously managed leasing operations for factories and offices in China, including Shanghai and Ningbo, but divested this segment in late 2021 through an equity transfer of its Chinese subsidiary to a local state-owned enterprise for approximately CNY 900 million, receiving proceeds in early 2022 to refocus resources on its core domestic rental housing activities in Japan.
