Business
Nozawa Corporation (5237.T) manufactures and sells extruded cement panels and related building materials primarily in Japan. The company produces ASLOC extruded cement panels for noise, freezing, fire, and earthquake resistance, used in exterior walls, partitions, and external insulation systems for office buildings, plants, warehouses, and other structures; extruded cement boards including flat, design, tile base, finishing, and specialized variants; tunnel interior materials; fire-resistant cladding; lightweight embankment construction panels; slate board materials; and home construction materials such as flexible sheets and Mablite. It also offers Minemag magnesium fertilizer derived from building materials via inorganic modification technology; integrated exterior green wall systems; ASLOC Solar Wall with embedded solar cells for energy conservation; and ALCUS exterior wall materials for super high-rise buildings developed through advanced extrusion technology. Nozawa provides construction contracting, design, supervision, and ancillary services, alongside real estate leasing and insurance agency operations in property, casualty, and life sectors. Founded in 1897 as a trading company importing indigo dye and slate board, with domestic slate production starting in 1913, the company is headquartered in Kobe, Japan, and operates mainly within the country targeting construction, industrial, and agricultural markets. Recent developments include the 2017 launch of ASLOC Neo, a comprehensive upgrade to its flagship ASLOC panels after 47 years, which account for 50% of sales; introduction of the industry-first LS Process to cut construction labor by 30%; and ongoing expansions into sustainable products like Minemag fertilizer through industry-academia collaboration and environmentally focused systems to address disaster resilience, labor shortages, and climate needs.
