Smile Holdings Inc. (7084.T), formerly Kids Smile Holdings Inc., provides childcare and early childhood education services primarily in Japan. The company operates after-school facilities; global schools; swimming schools; preschool-integrated nurseries; licensed nurseries; and kindergarten classrooms under brands including Kids Garden, Kids Smile, and KIDS GARDEN. It serves families with children through 82 facilities accommodating 5,355 children as of April 2025, generating 13.65 billion yen in revenue for the fiscal year ended March 2025 with 1,772 employees. Founded in 2008 and headquartered at 1-3-8 Nishi-Gotanda, Tokyo, the company targets urban and regional markets across Japan, focusing on working parents amid declining birthrates. It maintains operations in key areas like Tokyo, Kanagawa, Aichi, and plans expansions to Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka. In December 2024, the company announced a name change to Smile Holdings Inc. effective January 1, 2025, alongside its operating subsidiary Kids Smile Project becoming Smile Project Co. Ltd., to reflect a strategic shift from infant education to comprehensive personal care services. This aligns with a new medium-term management plan unveiled in June 2024, emphasizing business diversification including overseas study support, nature tourism via an internal travel division, and M&A-driven overseas nursery operations to target families holistically and achieve 40% of sales from non-infant education segments. Recent initiatives also include revised dividend estimates for fiscal 2025 introducing the first payout and premium education service expansions.
