Business
Arianne Phosphate Inc is a development-stage phosphate mining company primarily engaged in the exploration, development, and planned production of high-quality phosphate rock and downstream phosphate products. The company operates the Lac à Paul project located in Quebec's Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, Canada. Its core products include phosphate concentrate containing approximately 39% P2O5 with low contaminants, high-grade purified phosphoric acid (PPA) for use in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, and secondary phosphoric acid for specialty fertilizers and animal feeds. Arianne also focuses on producing battery-grade phosphoric acid, positioning itself to supply the growing demand in the electric vehicle and energy storage sectors. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Quebec, Arianne Phosphate is advancing its project with an emphasis on both mining phosphate rock and entering the value-added market by constructing a downstream PPA production facility. Key recent developments include a strategic partnership with Travertine Technologies announced in 2025 to leverage Travertine's advanced, carbon-negative phosphate processing technology for commercial purification of phosphoric acid. The company has also secured conditional funding approval from the Government of Canada in late 2025 supporting the addition of a PPA plant in the Saguenay region, aimed at producing 350,000 tonnes annually of purified phosphoric acid and 220,000 tonnes of secondary phosphoric acid. This facility is expected to create significant economic value with a projected pre-tax net present value exceeding US$4.5 billion. In 2024, Arianne completed a prefeasibility study confirming the economic viability of its downstream purified phosphoric acid project, endorsing its growth strategy from phosphate mining to integrated phosphoric acid production for critical applications, including battery materials. The company targets supplying Western gigafactories with secure, high-quality phosphate inputs and aims for technological optimization to further enhance yields and profitability. Arianne is publicly traded on the TSX Venture Exchange (Ticker: DAN), OTCQX (Ticker: DRRSF), and Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Ticker: JE9N), and competes within the global phosphate mining and processing industry focused on sustainable and low-risk jurisdiction operations.
