Business
Fountain Asset Corp. is a Toronto, Ontario-based merchant bank that provides structured financing solutions, customized growth capital, and strategic advisory services to small and mid-sized emerging growth companies. Founded in 2003 and formerly known as GC-Global Capital Corp. until its corporate name change in August 2015, the company focuses on identifying and capitalizing public and private enterprises across North America that operate outside the conventional lending parameters of traditional venture capital firms and commercial banks. Fountain Asset Corp. operates across diversified industry segments—including technology, biotechnology, mining, energy and natural resources, cannabis, digital assets, retail, manufacturing, and financial services—and delivers a systematic range of financial products and corporate solutions: direct minority and majority equity financing; bridge loans and interim credit facilities; asset-backed and collateralized lending; senior, junior, and subordinated debt instruments; convertible debentures and hybrid investment structures; mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory; go-public advisory and reverse takeover (RTO) structuring; corporate reorganization and balance sheet restructuring; capital markets consulting; and operational and management support services. In recent corporate developments, Fountain Asset Corp. enacted key executive and governance changes, highlighted by the appointment of Geoff Barratt as Chief Executive Officer and Director in July 2026, succeeding Andrew Parks to oversee the firm's strategic capital deployment and investment portfolio. In addition, the company established an Advance Notice By-law in September 2026 to formalize director nomination processes and improve corporate governance, completed a strategic share-for-debt transaction to restructure obligations and optimize working capital, and implemented targeted long-term incentive stock option and restricted share unit (RSU) programs to align executive compensation with shareholder value creation.
