Business
Spanish Mountain Gold Ltd. is a Canadian exploration and development-stage company focused on advancing its 100%-owned Spanish Mountain gold project located in the Cariboo Gold Corridor of central British Columbia. The company holds approximately 53 contiguous mineral claims and 15 placer claims covering 13,598 hectares, targeting open-pit gold mining with associated silver production; its core assets include the Main deposit with Measured and Indicated resources forming the basis of a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) outlining 24.5-year mine life, annual production of 122,000 ounces of gold at 0.46 g/t head grade and 89.3% recovery, initial capex of C$1,250 million, after-tax NPV of C$1,025 million at 5% discount, and 18.2% IRR under base case metal prices of US$2,450/oz gold; the Phoenix deposit, K-Zone, Outcropping Tuff (OT) target, and A12 target, which offer resource expansion potential through near-surface higher-grade gold mineralization along structural controls like the Evelyn Fault and Orca Fault. Operations target junior mining investors and stakeholders in the precious metals sector, with all activities centered in British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Vancouver, the company changed its name from Skygold Ventures Ltd. in January 2010. Recent developments include the July 2025 release of an updated NI 43-101 PEA and Mineral Resource Estimate incorporating over 235,000 metres of drilling, highlighting 3.0 million ounces of total life-of-mine gold production; closure of a C$7.2 million brokered private placement in August 2025 to fund exploration and development; announcement of a 9,000-10,000 metre drill program in September 2025 targeting Main, Phoenix, K-Zone, OT, and A12 areas for grade extensions, metallurgical testing, and infrastructure derisking; and ongoing 2025 fall drilling results such as 0.82 g/t gold over 139.82 metres including 2.19 g/t over 33.54 metres in December, extending high-grade domains toward a potential 2027 construction decision.
