Business
Ternium S.A. is a Luxembourg-based manufacturer and processor of flat and long steel products with integrated mining operations serving the Americas; the company produces slabs, billets, round bars, hot-rolled coils and sheets, cold-rolled products, galvanized and electrogalvanized sheets, pre-painted coils, heavy plates, bars and stirrups, wire rods, steel pipes, stamped steel, and iron ore concentrates and pellets through its Steel and Mining segments, targeting industries including automotive, construction, home appliances, HVAC, and infrastructure with high-value-added solutions via 18 production plants and two mining facilities in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, and the United States. Founded in 2005 through the consolidation of Siderar, Sidor, and Hylsa and headquartered at 46A Avenue John F. Kennedy in Luxembourg City, Ternium maintains a fully integrated production system from iron ore mining to advanced steel processing with 13.8 million tons of annual hot-rolled coil capacity and a commercial network across the region. In recent developments, Ternium Investments agreed in 2025 to acquire Nippon Steel and Mitsubishi Corporation's remaining stakes in Usiminas' control group for $315.2 million, increasing Ternium's participation from 51.5% to 83.1% pending Brazilian antitrust approval; the company advanced its Pesquería expansion with a new DRI-EAF steel shop targeting Q4 2026 operations, commissioned the Vientos de Olavarría wind farm in Argentina reducing CO2 emissions by 111,000 tons annually, and published its 2024 Sustainability Report outlining a 15% specific CO2e emissions reduction goal by 2030.
