Business
Texas Instruments Incorporated is a global semiconductor company that designs, manufactures and sells analog and embedded processing chips, serving industrial, automotive, personal electronics, communications, enterprise systems and data center markets worldwide. Founded in 1930 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the company operates through two main segments, Analog and Embedded Processing, and provides a broad portfolio of products including power management devices; amplifiers; data converters; interface products; clocks and timing devices; processors; microcontrollers; and development tools, reference designs and technical documentation that support customer integration into end equipment. TI sells its products directly and through distribution channels, with operations spanning the United States, China, the rest of Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Japan and other international markets. The company emphasizes long product life cycles, high-volume manufacturing and direct customer support, with a significant portion of revenue generated through TI.com and other direct relationships with electronics designers and manufacturers. In recent company developments, Texas Instruments announced in February 2026 a definitive agreement to acquire Silicon Labs in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $7.5 billion, with closing expected in the first half of 2027 subject to regulatory and stockholder approvals. TI also reported that it is investing heavily in its 300mm manufacturing footprint and, in its second-quarter 2026 results, cited broad demand recovery led by industrial, data center and automotive customers, with revenue growth across both Analog and Embedded Processing.
