- Frontier Group Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: ULCC) operates as the parent company of Frontier Airlines, Inc., a low-fare scheduled passenger airline serving leisure travelers primarily in the United States and Latin America; the company offers point-to-point nonstop flights on a fleet of 159 Airbus single-aisle aircraft as of December 31, 2024, with ancillary products and services including bags, seats, snacks, beverages, early boarding, and the Frontier Miles loyalty program featuring free unlimited companion travel benefits for Elite Platinum and Diamond status members; sales occur through direct channels such as the company website, mobile app, and contact centers, targeting price-sensitive customers in top U.S. metropolitan areas with a focus on network optimization, customer experience enhancements, and fleet deliveries extending through 2031 including commitments for an additional 180 aircraft. Founded in 1994 and headquartered at 4545 Airport Way in Denver, Colorado, Frontier Group Holdings employs approximately 7,913 people and competes in the ultra-low-cost carrier segment of the passenger airlines industry under CEO Barry Biffle. Recent developments include the launch of over 40 new routes in 2025 across the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America such as Baltimore-Chicago O'Hare, Myrtle Beach-Trenton, and expansions from Atlanta to capture market share amid Spirit Airlines' financial challenges; a January 2025 proposal to combine with Spirit Airlines via newly issued debt and common stock, offering higher recoveries for Spirit stakeholders than its standalone restructuring plan and promising synergies for a stronger low-cost carrier with enhanced service reliability and market expansion; and loyalty program upgrades driving a 19 percent increase in cardholder spending in the second quarter of 2025 alongside product investments for 2026 growth.
