USA Compression Partners, LP (USAC) is one of the nation's largest independent providers of natural gas compression services in terms of total compression fleet horsepower; the company engineers, designs, operates, services, and repairs its fleet of compression units and maintains related support inventory and equipment; it provides compression services under term contracts primarily to producers, processors, gatherers, transporters, and other midstream operators of natural gas and crude oil across infrastructure applications including high-volume gathering systems, centralized natural gas gathering systems, processing facilities, transportation applications, and gas lift applications in crude oil wells; in addition, USA Compression owns and operates equipment offering natural gas treating services such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide removal, natural gas cooling, and dehydration. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the master limited partnership operates a fleet of approximately 3.86 million horsepower across multiple states in the United States, with a focus on major basins including the Permian, Gulf Coast, Mid-Continent, Rockies, Bakken, and Northeast; it serves a broad customer base spanning oil and gas companies and independent operators with high fleet utilization rates. In a significant recent development announced on November 29, 2025, USA Compression entered into a definitive agreement to acquire J-W Power Company, a large privately-held provider of compression services, for total consideration of approximately $860 million comprising $430 million in cash and 18.3 million newly issued common units; this strategic acquisition adds over 800,000 horsepower to its fleet, bringing the combined total to roughly 4.4 million active horsepower, expands its geographic footprint and customer relationships in key U.S. basins, introduces diversified revenue streams from aftermarket services, parts distribution, and specialized manufacturing, and is expected to be accretive to distributable cash flow with closure targeted for the first quarter of 2026 subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
