Business
Westgate Energy Inc. is a Canada-based junior oil and natural gas exploration and production company focused on the acquisition, exploration, development and production of medium and heavy crude oil, associated natural gas and natural gas liquids in the Mannville Stack fairway of Eastern Alberta and West-Central Saskatchewan. The Company’s principal activities include identifying and delineating Mannville Stack reservoirs; drilling, completing and operating horizontal and multilateral oil wells; developing heavy-oil production facilities and field infrastructure; processing and marketing produced crude oil, natural gas and NGLs; managing water, sand-disposal and treating operations; and pursuing complementary land, well and infrastructure acquisitions. Its core operating assets include the Killam property in Eastern Alberta and a 100%-working-interest land position comprising six sections, or approximately 1,536 hectares, in Alberta’s Cold Lake Oil Sands Area, where it has identified prospective multilateral drilling locations across the Mannville Stack formations. Westgate applies modern horizontal drilling and completion techniques to develop historically underexploited medium- and heavy-oil accumulations and sells its production into Western Canadian energy markets. The Company serves oil and gas purchasers, midstream counterparties and related energy-market participants. Westgate Energy was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Recent operational initiatives include the commissioning of a tank-treating facility at Beaverdam to reduce sand-disposal costs and recover additional sales oil; the acquisition of two nearby natural-gas wells intended for tie-in to Beaverdam facilities to reduce propane requirements and operating costs; continued drilling and development activity in its Mannville Stack acreage; and a planned sidetrack of a well affected by a liner issue. In September 2026, Westgate entered into a bought-deal private-placement agreement with Haywood Securities Inc., as sole underwriter and bookrunner, to issue 20.0 million units at C$0.25 per unit for gross proceeds of C$5.0 million, with an underwriter option that could increase proceeds to C$5.75 million; the proceeds are intended to support drilling and development of its Mannville Stack assets and provide working capital.
