Xiaomi operates globally with strong market presence in China, India, Europe, and Southeast Asia. The company has established local manufacturing operations in several countries to support its international expansion. In recent years, Xiaomi has executed significant strategic initiatives including the full acquisition of Zimi International Corporation, a key ecosystem partner specializing in smartphone accessories and smart hardware, to strengthen its IoT and smart device capabilities. Xiaomi continues to invest heavily in research and development, committing RMB 200 billion over five years toward advancements in AI, 5G, chip design, and operating systems. In 2025, the company reported record revenues exceeding RMB 111 billion in Q1, driven by growth in premium smartphones and new business lines such as electric vehicles, where it launched models like the SU7 luxury SUV and plans the upcoming YU7. Xiaomi also launched the flagship Xiaomi 17 series smartphones featuring cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platforms and advanced camera technology in 2025, alongside the Xiaomi Pad 8 tablet series powered by its new HyperOS 2 with integrated AI capabilities. Xiaomi pursues a premiumization strategy focusing on high-end smartphones, targeting 30 million annual sales in this segment within five years, while continuing to expand its smart device ecosystem globally. The company’s R&D workforce exceeds 21,700 personnel with over 43,000 patents granted worldwide. Xiaomi’s strategic partnerships include a multi-year collaboration with Qualcomm to integrate advanced technologies. To support its electric vehicle ambitions, Xiaomi acquired land in Beijing's Yizhuang Economic Zone to expand EV production capacity. Its business model integrates hardware sales with internet services to enhance user experience, strengthening its position as a technology leader in consumer electronics, IoT, and smart mobility solutions worldwide.
