In April 2025, creditors initiated a petition in a U.S. court to place the company under bankruptcy protection to recover outstanding bond debts. Subsequently, in September 2025, the New York Stock Exchange commenced proceedings to delist Xinyuan's American Depositary Shares and immediately suspended trading, citing the company's failure to meet the minimum market capitalization requirements. Established in 1997 in Zhengzhou, the company later relocated its corporate headquarters to Beijing, China, in 2008.
