Yamaha Corporation (YAMCF), founded in 1887 and headquartered in Hamamatsu, Japan, manufactures and sells musical instruments, audio equipment, and industrial machinery/components worldwide. The Musical Instruments segment produces pianos, keyboard instruments, string instruments, guitars, basses and amps, brass and woodwinds, marching instruments, drums, percussion, and music production tools; it also operates Yamaha Music Schools and offers music education services. The Audio Equipment segment provides home audio systems, professional audio equipment, unified communications solutions, and network devices; the Others segment includes electronic devices, automotive sound systems, automobile interior wood components, factory automation equipment, golf products, semiconductors, and resort facilities. Yamaha conducts global operations across more than 100 countries, with production bases in Japan, China, Indonesia, and Malaysia, serving consumer, professional, and business markets in North America, Europe, Asia, and other regions. Subsidiaries and brands include Bösendorfer, Steinberg, Line 6, Ampeg, Nexo, Córdoba, Guild, DeArmond, and HumiCase. In 2025, Yamaha Music Innovations, LLC launched the Yamaha Music Innovations Fund I, a US$50 million corporate venture capital fund targeting early-stage startups in creative tools, interactive media, community platforms, and accessibility technologies; it appointed Andrew Kahn as Managing Partner. The subsidiary partnered with DataFalcon, Chartmetric, SimScale, and Rightsify starting in late 2024 and early 2025 to enhance productivity in intellectual property, quality assurance, R&D, digital musical instruments, and logistics as part of the "Rebuild & Evolve" medium-term management plan. These initiatives support open innovation, digital transformation, and new business development in sound and music technologies.
