Business
Aurora Solar Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: ACU) develops and markets inline quality control systems for solar cell manufacturing operations; its core products include the Intelligent PL Solutions platform featuring photoluminescence imaging tools such as R series for offline inspection, W series for inline incoming wafer inspection, and inline module inspection solutions that provide real-time defect imaging, advanced measurements, material property analysis, and AI-driven analytics for process control, yield optimization, and quality assurance in photovoltaic production. The company, founded in 2006 through a reverse takeover of Aurora Control Technologies Inc. and headquartered at 100-788 Harbourside Drive in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, wholly owns subsidiary BT Imaging Pty Ltd. with operations in Sydney, Australia, and Shanghai, China, serving global solar manufacturers in major markets including Asia, India, the Middle East, and the United States. In April 2025, Aurora secured its first commercial order for the inline Intelligent PL Solutions platform following a successful demonstration with a TOPCon customer, initiated a second major testing collaboration with a Tier 1 Chinese PV manufacturer potentially leading to large-scale volume purchases by Q4 2025, announced strategic partnership discussions for co-investment and integrated supply with leading solar companies, received over C$2 million in non-dilutive funding including a AUD 600,000 New South Wales government grant and AUD 1.635 million financing facility, appointed new leadership with Dr. Shubham Duttagupta as Managing Director of BT Imaging and Dr. Nitin Nampalli as Head of Technology, and entered a long-term intellectual property agreement with the University of New South Wales to advance inline product development amid geographic expansion and anticipated sales growth in fiscal 2026 driven by next-generation cell technologies like TOPCon, back contact, and tandem cells.
