ABB also announced a $1.5 billion share buyback program to enhance shareholder value and continues to invest heavily in research and development, with a focus on digitalization and automation technologies. Additionally, ABB has expanded manufacturing capabilities, including a new robotics factory in Shanghai, and increased its presence in electrification in North America and India to support growth. ABB's four customer-focused business areas—Electrification, Process Automation, Motion, and Robotics & Discrete Automation—complement its broad industrial technology offerings. The company operates in over 170 manufacturing sites worldwide and employs approximately 110,000 people. ABB's strategy emphasizes combining engineering and digital expertise to improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability across industries while addressing evolving customer needs in energy management, smart infrastructure, and industrial automation.
