ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc. (NYSE: ARR) is a real estate investment trust that primarily invests in and manages a leveraged portfolio of residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), consisting of fixed-rate, adjustable-rate and hybrid adjustable-rate securities issued or guaranteed by U.S. government-sponsored enterprises such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac or by the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae); it also holds unsecured notes and bonds issued by these entities, U.S. treasuries and money market instruments. The company, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida, operates exclusively in the United States and pursues attractive risk-adjusted returns for shareholders through active portfolio management, interest rate risk hedging with derivatives including swaps, swaptions and futures, and leverage via repurchase agreements, while distributing substantially all of its taxable income as required for REIT status. Externally managed by ARMOUR Capital Management LP, ARMOUR Residential REIT targets income-seeking investors with its high monthly dividend policy, recently set at $0.24 per common share for December 2025; recent strategic changes include multiple reverse stock splits in 2017, 2020 and 2023 to maintain NYSE compliance, an expansion of its at-the-market equity offering program in 2024 with the addition of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC as a sales agent and an increase in authorized common shares from 90 million to 125 million, a public offering of 18.5 million common shares announced in August 2025 to fund additional MBS acquisitions with an underwriter option for 2.775 million more shares, and ongoing portfolio adjustments through interest rate volatility including a reported Agency MBS portfolio of approximately $12.4 billion as of late 2024 alongside distributable earnings of $75.3 million in Q3 2025.
