APA Group (ASX:APA) owns and/or operates Australia's largest portfolio of energy infrastructure assets, including over 15,000 kilometres of high-pressure gas transmission pipelines spanning every mainland state and territory, delivering approximately half of the nation's natural gas usage; gas storage facilities such as Mondarra Gas Storage; gas processing and compression facilities; electricity transmission interconnectors including Murraylink, Directlink and Basslink; gas-fired power generation assets like Diamantina, Leichhardt, X41 and Daandine power stations; renewable energy assets encompassing Emu Downs Wind Farm, Hallett Wind Farms, Darling Downs Solar Farm, Badgingarra Wind Farm and Emu Downs Solar Farm; microgrids integrating renewables, battery storage and gas generation for remote regions; and energy solutions encompassing asset management services for its own investments and third parties. Headquartered in Sydney, New South Wales, the company was established in 2000 through the demerger of Australian Gas Light Company's gas transmission assets and listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. APA operates across Australia, serving residential, industrial and power generation customers through its interconnected eastern and western gas grids, electricity networks and diversified power assets. Recent developments include a December 2025 joint development agreement with CS Energy for the 400MW Brigalow Peaking Power Plant in Queensland to support grid reliability; a February 2025 five-year expansion of the East Coast Gas Grid boosting north-to-south capacity by 24% with new southern storage; completion of its gas distribution networks divestment to focus on transmission and growth assets; and ongoing investments in renewables, firming generation and electricity transmission aligned with Australia's net zero emissions target by 2050.
