Business
Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. (BAM) is a leading global alternative asset manager focused on real estate, infrastructure, renewable power, private equity and credit. The company manages over $1 trillion in assets under management and administration, offering a broad range of investment products including flagship funds in private equity, infrastructure, real estate, transition investing and emerging AI infrastructure; wealth solutions for retirement and insurance-linked strategies; and credit solutions through subsidiaries such as Oaktree Capital Management. Brookfield Asset Management serves institutional investors including pension plans, endowments, sovereign wealth funds and financial institutions, as well as private wealth investors, with operations spanning more than 30 countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and emerging markets. Originally spun off from Brookfield Corporation in December 2022 and headquartered in New York City following a relocation from Toronto in December 2024, the company operates independently while maintaining strategic alignment with its former parent, which previously held a 73% stake now subject to full acquisition as part of a broader restructuring. Recent developments include record $30 billion in fundraising during Q3 2025, highlighted by the world's largest clean energy transition fund at $20 billion and launches of new private equity, infrastructure and inaugural AI infrastructure funds; a $100 billion global AI infrastructure partnership with NVIDIA and others; investments such as $835 million in 5C Group's AI data centers, acquisition of Alba Renewables in Southeast Asia supported by its $2.4 billion Catalytic Transition Fund, and expansion into New Zealand gas assets for NZ$2 billion; alongside ongoing renewable energy deals like a 10.5 gigawatt agreement with Microsoft and leadership transition with J. Bruce Flatt assuming the chairman role in January 2025.
