Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP-PA) owns and operates a diversified global portfolio of infrastructure assets generating stable cash flows across utilities, transport, midstream, and data infrastructure segments; core holdings include regulated electricity and gas transmission and distribution networks, natural gas pipelines and storage facilities, rail networks and intermodal terminals, toll roads, ports, and data centers and fiber networks serving hyperscale customers. The partnership provides long-term contracted services to utilities, governments, and commercial enterprises; key assets encompass natural gas transmission in Brazil through Nova Transportadora do Sudeste, rail operations via Arc Infrastructure in Australia and Genesee & Wyoming in North America, port operations including Patrick Terminals in Australia and Linx Cargo Care Group, energy infrastructure such as Inter Pipeline in Canada and BUUK Infrastructure in the United Kingdom, and telecommunications towers in India via Crest Digitel and Summit Digitel. Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners conducts operations across North and South America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and other regions, with Brookfield Asset Management serving as its manager. Recent strategic initiatives include the July 2025 completion of the $9 billion acquisition of Colonial Enterprises, encompassing the largest U.S. refined products pipeline system spanning 5,500 miles from Texas to New York; the formation of a joint venture with GATX Corporation in May 2025 to acquire Wells Fargo's 105,000-railcar operating lease portfolio valued at $4.4 billion, expected to close in Q1 2026; the September 2025 purchase of Hotwire Communications, a U.S. bulk fiber provider; acquisitions of Clarus natural gas infrastructure in New Zealand and a South Korean industrial gas business serving semiconductor manufacturers; and a $5 billion framework agreement with Bloom Energy for up to 1 GW of behind-the-meter power solutions for AI data centers, with an initial 55 MW project underway. These transactions reflect over $1.5 billion in new investments during 2025, alongside robust capital recycling generating more than $3 billion from asset sales, supporting continued portfolio expansion and a targeted 12-15% investment return.
