Business
Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayii A.S. is a Turkey-based integrated poultry processing and animal nutrition company primarily engaged in the breeding, slaughtering, processing, and marketing of poultry meat, as well as the formulation and manufacturing of compound animal feeds. Founded in 1968 and headquartered in Bandirma, Balikesir, Turkey, the company operates as a key operating subsidiary within the global halal protein network of BRF S.A. through its TBQ Foods GmbH joint venture structure with the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA). Banvit manages fully integrated operations spanning two principal business segments: Poultry and Processed Meat Products, and Feed and Breeding Operations. The company offers a comprehensive range of products and services across commercial and consumer categories, comprising fresh, chilled, and frozen whole chicken and portioned cuts, including fillets, drumsticks, thighs, and wings; value-added, ready-to-cook, and fully cooked convenience items, such as breaded chicken nuggets, schnitzels, tenders, burgers, and poultry meatballs; traditional charcuterie and delicatessen meats, including poultry-based sausages, salamis, Turkish-style sucuk, and smoked cold cuts; cooked specialty products, including chicken doner and kebabs; compound animal feeds and nutritional solutions, including broiler feeds, layer feeds, ruminant livestock feeds, and vitamin-mineral premixes; and agricultural support services, including hatchery management, breeder flock operations, veterinary care, and technical support for its contracted grower network. The company markets its products primarily under the flagship Banvit brand, serving mass retail grocery chains, traditional retail outlets, fast-food chains, hotels, restaurants, caterers (HORECA), and industrial food manufacturers. Geographically, Banvit maintains integrated industrial operations across Turkey, with major processing complexes, slaughterhouses, hatcheries, and feed milling facilities situated in Bandirma, Elazig, and Izmir, complemented by an extensive contracted farming network and regional refrigerated distribution logistics centers. Alongside its leading domestic presence in Turkey, the company leverages international halal certification to export poultry and processed meat products to international markets across the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. In recent strategic and operational developments, Banvit has implemented extensive capital expenditure programs focused on facility modernization, slaughterhouse automation, and capacity optimization across its Bandirma and Elazig production hubs to enhance production efficiency and biosecurity standards. The company has expanded its product portfolio through the launch of specialized convenience lines optimized for air-fryer and rapid preparation, alongside clean-label deli products catering to health-conscious consumers. To advance environmental and operational sustainability, Banvit has executed renewable energy transition initiatives, including large-scale rooftop solar photovoltaic installations across its production facilities, upgrades to wastewater treatment and organic rendering operations, and deepened operational synergies within BRF's global supply chain and distribution platforms.
