CarrefourSA Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi A.S. is a Turkey-based food and general merchandise retailer operating a multi-format physical store network and integrated digital commerce platforms. Founded in 1993 as a joint venture between Sabanci Holding and Carrefour Group, the company is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, and caters to individual retail consumers, professional catering operators, and institutional clients across Turkey. The company segments its physical retail operations into distinct formats, including CarrefourSA Hiper (large-format hypermarkets), CarrefourSA Super (supermarkets), CarrefourSA Mini (neighborhood convenience and express stores), and CarrefourSA Gurme (specialty and gourmet food stores), alongside its digital channel CarrefourSA Online. CarrefourSA distributes a broad portfolio of consumer goods, comprising fresh agricultural produce, meat, poultry, seafood, dairy products, delicatessen items, bakery products, packaged dry groceries, organic and health-focused foods, non-alcoholic beverages, and alcoholic beverages; personal care, cosmetics, and hygiene supplies; baby food and maternity care essentials; household cleaning agents, detergents, and paper products; cookware, tableware, home textiles, and small domestic appliances; consumer electronics and mobile accessories; toys, stationery, and seasonal home goods; pet care and pet food products; and an extensive range of Carrefour-branded private-label food and non-food merchandise. Through its CarrefourSA Profesyonel business line, the company provides wholesale supply, specialized fresh-chain logistics, and procurement services to hotels, restaurants, cafes (HoReCa), and corporate institutions. In recent strategic and operational developments, CarrefourSA has significantly accelerated the rollout of its asset-light franchise and dealership model, rapidly expanding the CarrefourSA Mini footprint in neighborhood locations across various Turkish provinces without intensive capital expenditure. The company has also advanced its omnichannel retail ecosystem by investing in dark store fulfillment infrastructure, enhancing its mobile application and quick-commerce delivery capabilities, and integrating with third-party digital marketplace aggregators. In addition, CarrefourSA has expanded its sustainable agriculture and direct-sourcing initiatives, establishing direct procurement contracts with local farmers, broadening the distribution of certified geographical indication goods, and installing rooftop solar photovoltaic energy systems across major logistics centers and retail facilities to improve operational sustainability.
