- Ege Gubre Sanayii A.S. is a Turkey-based industrial enterprise engaged in the production, importation, and marketing of agricultural chemical fertilizers, as well as the commercial operation of integrated multi-purpose port, marine terminal, and logistics facilities. Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Aliaga, Izmir, Turkey, the company operates as a subsidiary of Gencer Holding A.S. from an expansive industrial complex situated on Nemrut Bay in the Aegean Sea. Ege Gubre conducts its business through two principal operational segments: Fertilizer Operations and Port Operations.
The company's Fertilizer segment manufactures, imports, and distributes plant nutrients and agricultural inputs for agricultural cooperatives, farming enterprises, and retail distributors across Turkey. Its product portfolio comprises: compound and complex fertilizers, including nitrogen-phosphorus (NP), nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK), and diammonium phosphate (DAP) formulations; imported straight nitrogenous fertilizers, including urea, ammonium nitrate (AN), and ammonium sulfate (AS); organomineral and specialized crop nutrition products; and basic industrial chemicals and organic solvents.
The Port Operations segment manages one of the largest private deep-water marine terminals in the Aegean region, serving international shipping lines, industrial manufacturers, commodity traders, and freight forwarders. Its comprehensive service offerings include: full container handling, yard storage, stacking, and off-dock terminal services; container freight station (CFS) activities, including stuffing, stripping, customs inspection, pre-trip inspection, and tare weighing; container washing, structural repair, and maintenance services; general cargo, heavy lift, and project cargo stevedoring; dry bulk and solid bulk cargo loading, unloading, and open/covered storage; liquid bulk storage and transfer via bonded tank installations; bonded and non-bonded warehouse management; and integrated port logistics support.
In recent developments, Ege Gubre has undertaken extensive infrastructure and equipment investments to scale its port handling capacity and expand maritime operations. The company completed the 100-meter physical extension of both its east and west deep-water berthing piers at the Nemrut Bay terminal, securing updated Coastal Facility Dangerous Cargo Compliance certifications to service larger-tonnage container and bulk vessels. To equip the expanded quays, the company made substantial capital additions to its port machinery fleet, including the commissioning of a 6.1-million-euro high-capacity Liebherr LHM-550 mobile harbor crane alongside preceding multi-million-dollar investments in mobile harbor cranes (MHC) and yard equipment. As part of a strategic realignment of its backland logistics space, Ege Gubre terminated third-party chemical tank leasing activities to repurpose the land for expanded container stacking and intermodal throughput. Additionally, the company secured regulatory approval for a 1.5-kilometer dedicated railway spur line and loading ramp project connecting the marine terminal directly to the national rail infrastructure. On the corporate finance front, Ege Gubre expanded its registered capital ceiling to TRY 600,000,000 and completed a 150% bonus share issue funded from retained earnings, increasing paid-in capital from TRY 40,000,000 to TRY 100,000,000.
