- Özsu Balık Üretim A.Ş. is a Turkey-based integrated aquaculture and seafood processing company engaged in the breeding, farming, processing, packaging, and international distribution of marine fish. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Urla, Izmir, Turkey, the company operates across the entire aquaculture value chain from hatchery operations and feed production to open-sea cage farming and cold-chain logistics. Özsu Balık serves wholesale distributors, retail supermarket chains, and food service providers across more than 50 countries across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia, managing its international commercial operations directly and through overseas subsidiaries including Ozsu Fish EU B.V. in the Netherlands and Ozsu Fish UK Limited in the United Kingdom.
The company's product and service portfolio encompasses fresh, chilled, and frozen whole sea bream (Sparus aurata) and sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax); value-added processed seafood products, including scaled, gutted, head-on, headless, and portioned fresh or individually quick-frozen (IQF) fillets; juvenile fish (fry and fingerlings) and fish eggs produced in high-capacity hatchery and laboratory facilities; specialized extruded marine fish feed formulated and manufactured through its 50.1%-owned subsidiary, Unifeed Su Ürünleri Yem Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.; secondary aquaculture by-products, including fish meal and fish oil; and temperature-controlled storage, packaging, and specialized cold-chain logistics services operating from its modern packaging and processing facility in Bornova, Izmir.
In recent developments, Özsu Balık has executed several operational expansions and sustainability initiatives to scale its production capacity and vertical integration. The company completed a major capacity doubling at its Unifeed aquafeed production subsidiary, raising annual feed manufacturing capacity from 50,000 metric tons to 100,000 metric tons to support internal farming demands and external commercial sales. The company has also expanded its juvenile fish production infrastructure, lifting annual hatchery capacity to 69 million units. In line with green energy transition and cost-optimization strategies, Özsu Balık and its subsidiaries have implemented rooftop solar photovoltaic (GES) power installations across their production and feed processing facilities to secure renewable self-generated electricity and reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, the company continues to broaden its European cold-chain distribution channels through its dedicated logistics and sales entities in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, reinforcing its export-led growth strategy in premium international seafood markets.
