Himalaya Food International Ltd. is an Indian food processing company specializing in the cultivation, processing, and export of mushrooms and individually quick frozen (IQF) ready-to-eat vegetarian products; its core offerings include fresh and processed mushrooms (white Agaricus, crimini, portobello), French fries, potato products, appetizers such as vegetable samosas, hashbrown coins, and brown patties, specialty cheese and butter from buffalo milk, canned mushrooms, ethnic Indian sweets and samosas, Indian breads and curries, and specialty ice cream, marketed under the Himalaya and Chef Ernesto brands. Founded in 1979 by Man Mohan Malik and headquartered at Village Shubh Khera, Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh, India, with registered office in New Delhi, additional manufacturing facility in Gujarat, and a North America distributor in the US, the company operates two ISO 22000-certified plants in North and West India, producing up to 10,000 tons of mushrooms, 25,000 tons of French fries, and other high-volume items annually for markets in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, targeting health-conscious, vegetarian, and vegan consumers through contract farming that employs over 2,200 people.
